Our Physics of Sports Video
For this project a group of 4 had to create a video describing a sport's physics on one certain thing, such as a basketball free throw which is what we decided to do. Doing this, we had to create a script, storyboard, and of course the video. Also, we had to solve calculations on the sport using real life measurements. Over our time of creation we edited the video to what it is now.
Concepts-
Horizontal and Vertical velocity- The components to velocity, where horizontal isn't affected by the vertical. In our case, to make a swoosh in basketball you need more vertical velocity than horizontal, giving the ball more arc when reaching the basket.
Projectile Motion- The motion to which a projectile follows according to acceleration due to gravity and it's direction. The projectile in our project was the basketball.
Impact Forces- The time of the impact where the force is applied to the object. Our impact force occurred when Logan was beginning to shoot the basketball, the time he had it before releasing it.
Momentum- The mass per unit velocity. There was momentum on the ball when Logan shot it. We used the balls mass times the velocity of the ball.

Reflections-
I really enjoyed putting together a video on sports that I could improve on. The video/movie making was very fun, I liked recording audio and learning how to edit videos.
A main contributing factor I/our group did well was time management. We finished our video on time and did well for the time given. We constructed our video with different slides, frames, and audio.
The new skills I learned about myself were that I can record audio without much faulting or stuttering, and if I wanted to, make an iMovie as well.
One thing I found challenging was speaking in front of the camera and controlling my group to not talk over audio recordings. Another hardship was getting the ball to be a perfect swoosh and record it.
Some things I could still work on is focusing on the project only, not being absent on the project days, and work more on the written work involved in the project.
The improvements on the project I would make next time is to get a better camera for recording, or at least a tripod for better stability without the camera shaking.
